Ohio State and Ohio’s lottery win raise money for scholarships

OHIO — Ohio State and the University of Ohio have won $1.2 million in scholarships for their scholarship winners.

The Ohio Lottery announced Tuesday that it had awarded $1,084,000 in scholarships to the University’s Class of 2019, the same year the Buckeyes won the national championship in March.

The University of Toledo’s Class 3 scholarship was awarded to a 2019 Ohio State junior.

The other scholarships for the 2019 Ohio Stampede were awarded to an Ohio State sophomore, a 2019 OHIO State senior and a 2019 OSU senior.

The winning lottery tickets were awarded in part to help support the Ohio State Center for Student Success, a nonprofit that supports student-athletes in need.

In the winning tickets, Ohio State is also providing $1 million in financial assistance to support scholarships awarded to Ohio Stamps and Ohio State Scholarship Club members.

The University of Akron will receive $200,000.
